A study that was published several years ago by Harvard University concluded that children who lived in areas with highly fluoridated water had “significantly lower” IQ scores than those who lived in low fluoride areas.
In a 2006 report published by the NRC (U.S. National Research Council) summarizing 27 studies on the effects of fluoride, evidence suggested that fluoride effected the learning and memory abilities of laboratory animals.
In fact, many scientific studies have shown a wide-range of toxic effects of fluoride on the brain. Other studies have suggested the possibility that fluoride adversely affects children’s neurodevelopment.
Fluoride Dangers Known About For Over 70 Years
An editorial published in the Journal of the American Dental Association on October 1, 1944 stated:
Drinking water containing as little as 1.2 ppm fluoride will cause developmental disturbances. We cannot run the risk of producing such serious systemic disturbances. The potentialities for harm outweigh those for good.
Other Dangers of Fluoride
Besides brain damage, fluoride may also contribute to muscle disorders, arthritis, cancers, immune malfunctions, fertility issues, genetic and cellular damage, thyroid problems, bone fractures and more.
Fluoride is Everywhere
The majority of city tap water in the USA contains fluoride. But don’t think bottled water is safer. It isn’t. About 40% of bottled water is regular tap water. In many cases, municipal water may actually be safer. Bottled waters may have other dangers as well, like the chemicals that leach from the plastic itself .There is very little regulation for the bottled water industry but municipalities have much stricter standards that are enforced. The bottled water companies are not very forthcoming on where they get their water from, or any purification methods (if any), are used.
Most water filters do not filter out fluoride either though extra fluoride filters can be purchased for some of the more expensive filtration units.
Fluoride isn’t just in the water. 95% of all toothpastes contain fluoride. Many processed food and beverages that use water in their production may also contain fluoride. Tea drinks often have high levels of this poison. Tea plants absorb fluoride from the soil. Excessive tea consumption has been linked to bone disease. Even pesticide manufacturers put fluoride in some of their products to kills insects and other pest.
Fluoride is a natural mineral that is in all living things. It does not harm us in small amounts when we eat it in our food. The fluoride that is added elsewhere is very harmful to our bodies.
Wanna be a smart kid? Avoid fluoride.
